Almeria province has over 214 kilometres of spectacularly diverse coastline. The most famous part is the stunning Cabo de Gata.

San Miguel de Levante Beach

This medium sized beach is located at the cove of An Miguel. It?s very close to the tourist area of Almerimar. It?s got fine dark sands and a large promenade. San Miguel is a popular spot for scuba diving, sailing and windsurfing.

There are plenty of facilities including; parking, showers, toilets, umbrellas, sun loungers and wheelchair access. The security is good; there are police and lifeguards everywhere.

If you fancy a stroll in the afternoon, head off to the nearby Puerto deportivo de Almerimar, where you can relax, have a drink and just watch the people pass.

San Miguel de Poniente Beach

This is quite a large beach. It's also located within the cove of San Miguel. It's more popular than the levante beach because it has a blue flag for swimming. You also go diving, sailing or windsurfing here and there are plenty of amenities like showers, toilets and sun beds etc...

La Garrofa Beach

This is a small rural beach with a stunning cliff backdrop. It has dark sand mixed with pebbles. Facilities consist of lifeguards and litter patrol. There's easy access from the CN-340 road.

San Telmo Beach

This is a very isolated beach; the perfect get away - incredibly calm and peaceful. It has fine dark sand and calm blue seas. Facilities are virtually nonexistent and it can be a bit tricky to get to. You have to walk down by the cliff side.

Las Olas Beach

This is another small beach with dark sands and very calm seas; although the name actually means "the waves" It's close to the fishing port in Almeria. Facilities include litter patrol and lifeguards. There's a local fishmonger nearby by that sells some superb fresh catch, that's well worth sampling.
