A website is accessible when it is designed and codified in a way that its contents and services are available to anyone, regardless of the context.

This website has been designed to be accessible to all web users, irrespective of individual abilities and browser type. This statement gives information about accessibility features, and levels of conformance to industry standards.

Our main goals with this website are:

To inform people with disabilities about the improvements we have made.
Spread among other web designers such improvements and new techniques.

SHORCUTS

Most of current Internet browsers provide links by using a combination of different keys.

This particular option is necessary for those who suffer some kind of physical or visual impairment (for instance, those that make difficult to use the mouse correctly). We are totally committed to making our site accessible to everyone, including blind or partially sighted customers who use screen readers.

The most useful shortcuts when surfing the net are:

Opera: MAYUSCULAS + ESC + shortcut

Due to the Opera browser incompatibility with numbered shortcuts it has been chosen to define this website with alphabetical shortcuts (using letters).

1. On this Web site all pages fulfil those necessary verifying checkpoints with priority 3 under the Web Contents Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 of the WAI. This means a level AAA according to the access standards recommended nowadays.

2. Accessibility to this web site has been checked and tested by evaluation tools such as TAW, developed by the CTIC Foundation.

3. By pressing 3 buttons at the bottom of each page users can verify at all times that the Web pages in this website are under the html, CSS and TAW rules.

4. All pages have been labelled to offer its structure correctly. Labels are used to highlight the titles of each page and the headers of each section too. This is beneficial for those web users who can browse using different key combinations.

BROWSING HELP

All pages in this website do have semantic web browsing elements (LINK) to help textual website users such as Lynx browse through it.

Mozilla (1.1 version) and Netscape 6 users could also benefit from this simply activating the navigation toolbar in each browser (in the menu View, Show/Hide, Site Navigation Bar, Show Only As Needed).

1. It has been tried to write the links texts with a certain sense even though they are read out of their own context.

2. It has been avoided that the links open new navigator screens. If you wish to open a link in a new screen you can do that by using the same mechanisms that the navigator provides, usually by pressing CTRL before or just right-click the mouse. A menu appears with the option: “Use a new screen”

2. All of the above allows just with certain variations that this site maintains the same visual effect when using the most common browsers such as: Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and Netscape.

3. In the same sense all pages have as an option on the top right side the possibility to enlarge the text: NORMAL TEXT and LARGER TEXT (TO MAKE IT EASIER TO READ) in this particular case the web is optimised with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
